East Meets West

Though we use different tools, The Stephanies have very similar philosophies towards patients, health, and healing. Treating the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—begins by digging into your story and laying the foundations of a therapeutic relationship. Hippocrates said “It is more important to understand what sort of person has the disease than what sort of disease the person has.” From this starting point, we can better identify your strengths, as well as your obstacles, to achieving optimal health. The body has tremendous healing capacity. This can be helped or hindered by the food we eat, how we move our bodies, and our state of mind. By first identifying the ways you may be impeding your own path to wellness, we can better utilize our diverse toolkits to support you.
Women’s health conditions represent an area where the combination of Western and Eastern approaches are of particular value. Reproductive health diagnoses feature prominently on the World Health Organization list of conditions for which acupuncture is of proven benefit. We offer integrative treatment of menstrual disorders, menopausal symptoms, and fertility. Ask about acupuncture sedation, a great alternative to medication for those wanting a kinder, gentler experience for Gyn exams and procedures.
